Portrait of Arshath

I’m Arshath — a backend engineer who loves figuring out how things work.

I got into software the self-taught way — following my curiosity into code, then teaching myself whatever the next problem demanded. That habit of pulling things apart to understand them from first principles is still how I work today.

My first full-time role was as a software engineer at Spritle Software in Chennai, where I cut my teeth shipping real products. From there I moved into senior engineering roles at a run of SaaS companies — Vajro (now Superfans.io) and Emitrr — building and scaling the backends behind products used by thousands of businesses.

Today I’m a Senior Software Engineer at FYNXT, a fintech platform, where I work on the backend systems and APIs at the core of the product. What I care about most is distributed systems — making them reliable, correct, and fast at scale — mostly with Java and Spring.

Outside the day job I’m an incurable generalist. I like knowing a little about a lot: I’ll happily fall down a rabbit hole on something with no bearing on my work, just to see how it fits together. Learning is the part of this job — and this life — I enjoy most.

Talk to me about Java, Spring, distributed systems, APIs, databases, and system design — or honestly, whatever you’re currently obsessed with.
